Participant Agreement, Release, and Acknowledgement of Risk
Welcome to Original Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu LLC.
Before joining any class, please read this Participant Agreement carefully.
By booking a trial class or participating in any activity with us, you and your child (or minor dependent) acknowledge and agree to the terms below.
1. Acknowledgement of Risk
Training in martial arts and fitness at Original Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu LLC involves physical contact and strenuous activity. These activities include known and unanticipated risks that could result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis, death, or damage to yourself, property, or others. Such risks cannot be completely eliminated without affecting the essential nature of the activity.
Risks include, but are not limited to, intense exercise, partner drills, sparring, and use of training equipment. Potential injuries may include bruises, sprains, strains, broken bones, heart-related issues, or exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
While our instructors are trained to promote safety, they cannot guarantee freedom from all risks or accidents.
2. Voluntary Participation
Participation in any program at Original Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu LLC is completely voluntary. By attending classes, you understand and accept all risks associated with martial arts training and choose to participate despite these risks.
3. Release and Waiver
You agree to release and hold harmless Original Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu LLC, its owners (including Sandro Silva), instructors, employees, volunteers, and anyone acting on their behalf, from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action related to your participation in classes, events, or use of the facility.
This includes claims alleging negligence or failure to warn.
4. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and protect Original Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu LLC and its representatives from any costs, attorney’s fees, or liabilities arising from your participation in our programs.
5. Health and Insurance
You confirm that you have no medical or physical condition that would endanger yourself or others through participation. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to have adequate health insurance coverage, or you agree to personally bear all costs related to any injury or damage that may occur.
6. Governing Law
Any dispute or legal claim related to your participation shall be governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, and any action must be filed exclusively in that jurisdiction.
7. Acceptance
By registering, booking, or participating in a class at Original Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu LLC, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Participant Agreement, Release, and Acknowledgement of Risk.
